STI Screening & Treatment You don’t have to reveal personal details to get screened. If you want a screen, you can get a screen. Chlamydia/gonorrhea iscreening is done with a urine sample; HIV/syphilis, with a fingertip blood drop. Antibiotics or e-prescriptions available for treatment (exception: further-care referral is made for positive HIV test.
Free Safe-Sex Supplies Available to pick up or local delivery.
UTI Screening & Treatment Urinalysis is done on-site during a visit.
Pregnancy Testing Urine pregnancy test is done on-site during a visit.
Clinical Health Coaching Clients can set realistic lifestyle goals under the guidance of positive-psychology health coaching. Clients can include pets in their health journey, which can include their relationship with their animals. Medication management, prescription education, & medical care advocacy available within clinical health coaching also.
Editing & Proofreading These services are available for medical, nursing, & health publications, academic papers, & scientific articles.
Educational Workshops Various workshops are available. These include cultural humility for medical providers, strangulation prevention & education, queer health advocacy, & sexual health education.

PA Andi Woods has worked in reproductive health & psychiatry for over 20 years. Her past experiences include managing a free clinic for young people, teaching yoga to toddlers, teens, & older adults, working in the ER, & being a clinical health coach. She completed the Advanced Course on Strangulation Prevention & Education at the San Diego Family Justice Center. Her MPH studies were based on medical advocacy & reducing medical mistreatment of clients. Andi supports the human-animal bond & how it influences the health of people & pets. Andi is a member of the Iowa Physician Assistant Society & the Human-Animal Interaction Division of the American Psychological Association.
BACKGROUND OF THE PHCIC The Preventive Health Center of Iowa City (PHCIC) offers a cozy, private space for clients. Growing up in Minneapolis, Andi learned from her mother the importance of safe spaces in health care. Her mother took the kids to a local city clinic for health care as she knew the staff to be kind. This influence has been embedded in the PHCIC to offer a respectful atmosphere for clients.
